At the Workshop we will be modelling Menstrual Cup moulds with [Openscad] (https://openscad.org/).
Our plan is to be the first to use resin 3d printer's to make menstrual cup moulds and build an injection moulding machine, to create a decentralised network of medium scale menstrual cup makers.
We at The Crimson Wave Project are working on creating open-source Menstrual Cups that are customisable. Using Resin 3d printing and injection moulding.
Our goal is to address period poverty, which is the lack of access to sanitary products due to financial constraints. 3 in 10 menstruators in the UK struggle with period poverty.
Sustainable reusable products such as menstrual cups are better for the environment and cheaper in the long-term. (If you are based in the Netherlands or near by and have access to a CNC please contact me)
Im Colin, a Hacker from Cologne (C4). When I spend some time at Astralship a hackerspace/hackbase in Wales we founded the Crimsonwave project (Jane, Em and me). We got a 15K grand from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation https://www.phf.org.uk/. I gave workshops at GPN and EMF and now also comming to MCH!
