Human interactions can be messy - especially in groups. Often we unconsciously follow bad protocols. Consciously thinking about how you interact in groups makes a huge difference. Come and experience some simple recipes for structuring interactions that include and involve everyone.
Human interactions can be messy - especially in groups. Who doesn't know the situation where the loudest/most eloquent/charismatic person gets to dominate the conversation or the HIPPO effect. Or we have battles of two opponents/opinions, with the rest of the group watching in terror or shutting off.
How about that awkward silence in a big group where nobody wants to go first, the terror of going in a circle and being expected to be able to contribute at just that moment when it is your turn? and let's not forget you might want to include more than 5-8 people in an interaction. Sitting in a circle and distributing time equally just won't work.
There is a better way, and it is easy and fun.
In this highly interactive workshop, y'all get to experience and practice simple recipes for structuring interactions that include and involve everyone.
Come as you are and experience some interaction. Or learn more about the principles and micro structures for these "group interaction recipes" at liberatingstructures.com.
Martin is curious about individual and organisational evolution. His interest is in the conscious choices and unconscious patterns of individual behaviour and how they influence the lives and the cultures and environments we create for us. Analyzing and mirroring patterns in order to weaken or break the bad ones and strengthening the ones you choose to keep.
